Blurred vision and after images

by coolermaster, Feb 02, 2006 12:00AM
Hi all

I have a problem with my vision and im not sure what its because of and am going to have an eye test soon to see if anything can be found.

Occasionally i will be staring at something and my vision will go blurry, sort of like my eyes have been crossed. Also i get quite bad after images, if i look at something and then look away i can see the image still there for a second. The intensity of the image depends how bright the object is. When im in bed going to sleep sometimes im able to see a green orb floating out of my eyes and then dissapearing, and black patches which vibrate when i open my eyes which also dissapear. These two only happen when im in bed tho, with the lights off which might have something to do with it.

I must also add that i have taken hallucinogen drugs but not for a couple of months, and is what i put the after images down to. But now it seems to be getting worse.

Im getting quite worried that what i thought was caused by drugs is actually a condition i might be developing.

Thanks for any help on this!

the blurry vision and eyes crossing is likely fixable with an eye exam and possible prescription glasses/contacts/etc.

the afterimages, green orbs and black patches will not be repairable with any vision correction.  they could be drug-induced, but they could also be nothing.

everyone sees funny colors and shapes to some degree when they close their eyes.  some see more than others.  there is no treatment for that, so even if it is bothering you, not much anyone can likely do.

Thanks for the quick reply! Thats what i was thinking, it does bother me some but it is bearable. I dont notice the afterimages unless i look for them. Ill go for an exam to find out about the blurry vision now.
