Bruise to toddlers eyelid

by jaborti, Jul 30, 2006 12:00AM
My 3 1/2 year old son hit his eye on the spout in our tub about 2 months ago.  His vision was fine, but the lid was black and blue for a couple of days.  Once the black and blue went away I noticed that there is a red dot on his eyelid that looks redder some days the others.  I lifted back his eyelid to find what looked like swelling and a pimple looking thing there(there was nothing under the good eye).  I asked my pediatrician and she said it was ok, that the eyelid takes a long time to heal.  Should I go to a Pediatriac Opthalmologist?  My son can see fine, but I just don't like the looks of this red dot on the eyelid.  Thanks

cant hurt.  a second opinion is always a good idea.  pediatricians generally think they know way more about eyes than they actually do
