Not too many treatment options for this. De-stressing is really the only one. Sure...get a second opinion. I wish more people would get second opinions. Go to a retinal specialist.
im actually going to an ophthalmologist as i have only gone to a optomitrist. Should i ask the ophthalmologist if i should see a rental specialist? I guess i should wait and see if he diagnoses me with having the same thing. The only thing that concerns me is that the optomotrist saw no fluid. Dont you need to see fluid to diagnose CSC?
no. you do not need to see fluid to diagnose CSC.
in my opinion, going to a general ophthalmologist who is not a retinal specialist is no different or better than seeing your optometrist. the only person who can likely tell you more than your O.D. did is a retinal specilaist. going to a general-practice ophthalmologist is probably a wasted step.
do i need a referral to see a retnal specialist? how do i find one in my area?
you would only need a referral if your insurance plan requires it before you see a specialist. your optometrist can provide the referral letter. you shouldnt need an official referral letter unless your insurance requires it.
how do you find one? ask your optometrist. he or she should definitely know. they might even already have the retinal specialist's info and can fax over their findings...saving your retinal specialist's time.
prepare to be dilated again at the retinal specialist's office.
great, thank you for all your help. along with it, i believe i also have dry eye which i will have to get some drops for
