Cataract surgery complications

Cataract surgery complications

My 58y old mother had cataract surgery on the R eye two monts ago.Her condition is very bad and is not getting better.Doctor is constantly insisting that everything is OK.Her symptoms:1.unbearable pain, horible, horible pain 2.light sensitivity 3.eye redness 4.feeling like something is in the eye
She became totally sidabled.
What went wrong? She is not using any medicine now.
Since there were some mistakes done in Dr office I need to ask some questions.Let me first tell what mistake is done:they gave her instructions to put drops in wrong eye - L instead R.Fortunately we saw this, called office and made sure that everything is OK.
My question is:ARE ALL MEASUREMENTS PRIOR THE SURGERY TOTALLY SAME FOR THE R AND L EYE? ARE THERE L E F T OR R I G H T IMPLANT LENSES?
What if they have done measurements for the left eye and applied results on the right one? What if they have implanted L lens in the R eye? Something is wrong. When she goes to follow up, nurse is asking her every time: "How is your L eye doing?"
Please, help us. We would appreciate any kind of help, because my mother's condition is not going to improve. WHAT WE NEED TO DO?
Also, she had glaucoma surgery one the same eye 5 years ago. Might that be the reason for complications?

I need to add here something, because I did not expres myself enoug clear in introduction post: The mistake done in Dr office was regarding instruction about putting drops in the (wrong) eye 7 days prior the surgery. Preparation of the eye for surgery.

You need to get your mother to another ophthalmologist who does cataract surgery.  Both my parents, sister, several aunts and several close friends have had cataract surgery and none of them have ever complained of pain.  The eye may be a little gritty feeling for a few days, but all were so astonished with the improved vision that I never heard anyone complain of pain.  I don't even recall any of the above taking drops before hand but they may have.  I had one friend who developed an infection after the cataract surgery.  His vision was real bad in the infected eye and very light sensitive but he never complained of pain.  Get a second opinion and quick.

myself I did feel horrible pain soon after surgery. and couple weeks I felt discomfort. I've had 8 operation on my left eye and I still don't have good vision. I'm 50 now but 2 years ago this started with a simple cataract removal and I got a horri ble infection.I had opertions since then. I've lost alot of work time I'm a nurse. please stand up for your mother and find another doctor. rena
