DRY EYES??

hELLO,
I HAVE A QUESTION. I HAD LASIK DONE ABOUT 4 YEARS AGO.
AND SINCE THEN I HAVE VERY DRY EYES AND AT TIMES MY VISION IS BLURRY, I BUT SOME EYE DROPS AND MY EYES GET BETTER.
IS IT NORMAL, AS FAR AS IT BEING A SIDE EFFECT??? MOST OF THE TIME I SEE GREAT BUT THERE ARE THOSE EXCEPTIONS, SHOULD I BE CONCERNED?

dry eyes is probably the #1 or #2 complaint with LASIK.  yes, that is an EXTREMELY common side effect.  it is not dangerous.

Hi! I have dry eyes too (had Lasik 6 years ago).  The best eye drops for me is Thera Tears.  I use the small disposable vials (perservative free).

Also, the Thera Tears Liquid Gel is good at night.

Whatever you do keep your eyes moist.  I have  pterygium growths on both eyes.  My doc said; dry eyes contributed to the growths.  Now I have to have surgery to remove one.  

So don't make my mistake, use the drops!

I also have the same problem from my lasik and antihistimine use, but the doctor recommended the below info and it has really helped.  My eyes "feel" so much better.  Not dry and gritty and I think I am actually seeing better... Good luck.



have you tried "soothe" brand over-the-counter lubricant eyedrops? it has FISH OIL in it, and i have had a lot of success recommending it to patients with chronic dry eye. it comes in an orange & purple box, and may be hard to find. it runs about $10/bottle...MUCH less than restasis (like $90/bottle!) its an emulsion (like oil & water), so you need to shake it up before use.
