Dark 'mole'? on surface of eye

Hi, Sorry I do not know all the technical jargon relating to eyes but I have a small (but growing) slightly raised brown 'spot' on the white bit of my eye.  This is next to the Iris? there is a blood supply leading to the 'spot' need I be concerned? my doctor is refering me but it may be some time before I get to see anyone.

dont be too concerned, but it certainly needs to be investigated.  as for the duration of time before your appt, dont worry too much about that, either.  i would not consider this to be a medical emergency requring immediate care.
