Do the hemorrhages ever calm down?

Do the hemorrhages ever calm down?

I have been a T1 diabetic for 23 years now. I began to have major eye problems since 2004. I have aad many Lasers, Shotsm Kenelog &Avastin, and now a Vitrctomy. My BS is in Great control, Im on a pump, my last A1C was 5.6. After all this, do the hemorrhages ever calm down? This has got me VERY frustrated. Everytime I begin to be able to see a little better, something happens.

diabetic retinopathy is not a nice thing.  diabetes is a vascular disease that (i'm sure you know) is way more complicated than just keeping your BS in check.  some people are just prone to having more retinopathy than others.

you're doing all you can do.  some of this is out of your control.  to answer your question...no, most patients get more retinopahty the longer they have the disease, not less.  hopefully you can stay on top of it like you are and keep it to a minimum.  good luck!
