literally every human on the planet has this.  the ones who dont think they have it just havent seen it yet, or arent astute enough to notice it.

you are not going blind.  this is perfectly normal.

I am 27 years old and I have had this problem for as long as I could remember. I see what I describe as constant sparkles. It is kind of like when your TV has no reseption, and you see the snow. Only in color and more spread out, and less. After researching what I could on the internet. It sounds to me alot simular to Entopic Phenomenon. Only mine is constant! It never goes away! Day time, night time, all the time! I first went to the eye Dr. questioning this about 8 years ago! He told me nothing was wrong with my vision, it had to be something else medically! Then just a couple months ago I went to another eye Dr. because I still have the same problem. He also said my vision is fine (20/20) and he seen no other kind of visual problems (glacoma ect.) So he sent me to a eye specialist. I have to go back for a couple more tests, but his first reaction was that he has never had a patient claiming to see what a describe, constantly!
Anyone have the same symptoms or have any idea of what direction I should go next to find out some kind of answers!

Doctor, Hello and thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question.

To be honest, I haven't been able to find any sort of eye disorder or disease that relates to my (and others') symptoms, so that is somewhat of a relief as well.

My question, however, is that these specs don't appear as bad on a blue background.  However, they are very bad on a white or tan background.  Does this make sense?

I was told that I have very large pupils and that could make the problem seem worse.

It's difficult to believe there's nothing wrong when it's right there in front of you!

Thanks again for the great service on this site.

Fred:

I see the exact same thing.  I swear I never noticed it before, either, but then again it's only been within the last year when I suddenly started seeing a lot of floaters that I became "hyper-aware" of everything regarding my vision.

The tiny lights I see look like their "boiling" throughout my vision. Little tiny dots of light that seem to boil everywhere.  They're just bright enough to notice when looking at a clear or bright background.  Alas, my deep, dark and numerous floaters are far more annoying to me --image shaking a snow globe and trying to look through that and you get an idea of what I see when I look at bright things (computer screens, the sky, etc.).

You're not going blind...you're just more aware of it than most.

Now, do you also see your heartbeat pulse in your vision???

OH MY GOD!!

Thats exactly what i have, thank god i stopped by.

It like when i look at bright plain backgrounds (the sky, white plain paper, the white walls in my office) i see these little swirling lights that appear in my periferal vision. the worst i noticed it was on a flight to singapore when we went up through the cloud base into the big blue.

I have had nothing but **** with my eyes for about 5 years now, floaters first, but you have to deal with those, a cataract in my left eye and now these bloody swirly things.

Got an appointment with opthalmologist on Oct 11 so i'll caht with him then. I have to say that most of this started after having dilating drops put in my eyes when i first had my floaters investigated, any possible links???????

jonnyboy73 and cacklebunny,

It sure is good to konw that there are other people out there who seem to be going through the same thing.  No matter what I've been told by the doctors, I still can get over the fact that I'm going blind and no one seems to care or know why.

Have you each tried to use sun glasses?  I still don't own a pair of prescription glasses but am going to get some.  When I put sunglasses over my regular glasses, they help a great deal.

No one I've spoken with and nowhere I've read have these symptoms been described with any major eye disease or disorder.  I guess we're just going to have to get used to seeing spots everywhere.

i get this experience also, quite allot.  i first noticed it when these small glowing cells suddenly appeared while i was playing tennis...they lasted 10 secs or so then faded.

since then my brain seems to now discern these little cells in almost all light conditions.  i see them when looking at a blue or grey overcast sky and especially after doing excersise or during long cycle runs...they seem to be more visible when i'm doing anything physical.  is this what other people notice?

i also see them more prevelently first thing upon waking in the morning where they appear as faint tiny specs of black and flicker and form a kind of snow like veil over my vision...that quickly fades once i'm up and awake.

someone above asked if i see my heart beat in my eyes...yes, i do, and again i've only statred to notice this since becoming more "aware" or anxious about my vision.  if i quickly climb a set of stairs for example, or anything that quickly gets my heart beating, i'll see a kind of quick flashing black/grey pulse that's perfectly in synch with my heart beat...

very strange...but makes me feel much better to hear this is normal experience.

one point i forgot to add....i mentioned these darting glowing cells to my doctor and told her i see them quite often now.  she said that everyone can see them normally but when you get a sudden distinct spell of them (like i did playing tennis) this is a sign of a short interruption of blood flow to the retina.

because i have slightly low blood pressure she said this could explain why i see them more clearly.

so to everyone above, might be connected to slightly low blood pressure...but according to my doc (touch wood) its nothing to worry about.

It sounds like a lot of us are trying very hard to get our point across that the floaters and other visual phenomenon are very real and very bothersome.

I wanted to forward to everyone a website that has a program you can download called a Floater Simulator.  It is DEAD ON accurate.  It even simulates the strange starbursts and "boiling" lights I've tried to describe!

You can download it at:
http://www.floatershell.com/

I urge everyone suffering from these visual disturbances.  I also recommend eye doctors download and view this simulator...it's an eye opener!
