ReZoom vs. Restor Lens continued.  Bjbinfl: Now that you are 2 weeks post op w/ Rezoom, how is your vision at let's say 2-3 feet (intermediate distance). As far as NEAR vision:  Are you blurry at 12"-14"? Thanks.

5 days post op and I just completed a 10 hour drive for a trip I made. Driving mostly at night I had no problems with my new ReZoom lens. The halo effect seems to be diminishing, but is noticble when lights are ceiling mounted and above me. The night driving did not trigger the effect.

I am seeing very crisply and clearly at distance down to about 26 inches where my vision blurs but then at 12-14 inches gets very crisp again even with the smallest of print. Closer than 12 and it blurs again.

My next eye appointment is tommorrow so I will update as requested.

Cataract49:  Thanks so much.  THe specifics you gave are very helpful to me.I know every pt. responses alittle differently, but you are close to my age so I am interested in your experience.  I play  musical instruments  and   do alittle computer work, so I was particularly interested in your intermed. vision, which you were so kind to note. The overhead light/halo is very interesting.  I play on  a stage and I wondered about that. I think it's still early in the healing process. So far, all you told me is very good and encouraging.
Currently, without correction I have to hold things 6 " to read With correction, about 12"  so it sounds good so far.  Thanks again for your willingness and your time to share your experience w/ us.

Nursept and all regarding my ReZoom implant;

I am pleased to be able to provide details to help you decide what to do. I have no ties to any lens manufacturer in any way. I have been researching the lens decision for over 8 months and could find very little information from actual patients.

I had my follow up appointment today and got a very good report 6 days post op. I am seeing 20/20 at distance. J1 at 12-14 inches, and J2 at 25inches! I am fuzzy between 14 and 25 inches. I also do quite a bit of computer work and have been fine as I normally sit about 25-30 inches from the screen where I am seeing J2 clearly.

As per the peripheral right side rings/halos when in a room with overhead spot lights......my ReZoom lens is perfectly centered. The effect is coming from my peripheral upper right position and that is exactly where the incision was made. I feel that it is very probable (as my eye heals) that this effect will diminish or go away.

In the end, I am extremly satisfied and glad that I selected the ReZoom lens (and my surgeon of course). I am wearing a multifocal contact in my left eye and for now I am seeing extremely well with great depth perception and overall vision.

As I prepare to have my second eye done, my choice will be the ReZoom. I have, however, decided to postpone my second eye surgery for now as I am doing so well with one contact and one ReZoom.
