Eye itching

Hi,

It has been three weeks since I started to feel a burning sensation and a itching in the corner and upper part of my left eye. I don't have any redness, no sensitivity to light and no lost of sight. However, it does really hurt sometimes. I have seen an ophtalmologist one week after it started and he has seen nothing. I have passed a tomodensitometry exam with a scanner. They say the scan is normal. The eyelid is swollen a bit though. They gave me an anti inflamatory drug to help for that (pms-diclofenac-k 50 MG).

I asked them many times if it was not a virus since two days before it started, my girlfriend kissed me near the left eye and she has frequent herpes simplex 1 outbreaks since she is pregnant. I don't remember if she did have one. Medics say they don't think it is that because there would be huge symthoms or not at all. And since they didn't see any foreign bodies or infections visible, they think it is not a virus. But one doctor said one week after it started that a virus would last a long time. So for now I don't have answers and I still feel the itching and the feeling of have something stuck in the left corner of my left eye. Friends say it could be psychological but when I feel sometimes the feeling of a needle in the corner of my eye, it seems very real for me.

An ophtalmologist will call me back in two weeks for scheduling an appointment in an external clinic.

Does anyone though have an idea about that. I had to take the week off my work because it was rendering me unable to function normally (I am a production manager)? I need kind of desperately answers. I took all the measures I could imagine to have them and I am still in the dark.

does not sound like virus to me, either.  

anything in the 'corner' of the eye could be 'angular blepharitis':

God damn it! It is precisely what I am feeling. Blepharitis! It describes in details what I feel.

Should I wait to see an eye doctor on monday morning or should I go see him right away on weekend?

well, blepharitis is certainly not an emergent condition.  annoying but in no way dangerous.  you can definitely wait until monday.

I have an appointment to an ophthalmologist in may 7. We are april 29. It hurts so much. My nerves around the eye (between the eye and eyelid in the inside) give me constant bumps of pain. Visually, I am all right on the outside, but in the inside, I live a true hell. I went to the hospital again to see a general doctor cause I couldn't endure the pain any more. He did as all the others did, checked the outside and saw nothing. I talked about blepharitis to him, but he said it is not that... He also said that I had to wait until my appointment on may 7 for the ophthalmologist. I awake the morning and the pain just keep attacking me.... I am kind of tired to fight against this constant foe in my eye.

I don't really if someone can help me. I look so much right from the outside..

The ophthalmologist did find it was angular blepharitis, but on both eyes. He gave me tobradex ointment to help. At least I know what I have now!
