Eye lid twitch

by billstrong, Jan 27, 2006 12:00AM
For the past 3 months I have had an ongoing right upper eyelid twitch that occurs frequently thru out the day.  I am a coffee drinker and do work in front of a computer most of the time.  There is no pain and it doesn't affect the side of my face.  My question is, what causes this?  Is it something that will eventually go away?  Should I be concerned?  I would've thought that it would have subsided by now.  It happens every day, many times during the day.  I've read previous inquiries about this and understand that it's quite common.  Do you have any further information on this annoying tick?  Please respond...

most likely myokymia.  i think there are still other threads on this in the forum over the last few months.

not dangerous, should go away on its own.  if not cold compresses (not hot!) and possibly rx topical antihistamines may help.

it is possible (but unlikely) that you have facial nerve damage and blepharospasm.  botox injections may help if thats the case...
