Eye muscle pain

I am a 30 year old female who has been wearing contacts for about 15 years.  In the past few years, I've been suffering from some dry eye symptoms.  Last month, my left eye (with the contacts in) became increasingly uncomfortable to the point I had to take my contacts out.  I went to my optometrist, who conducted a full exam and ended up diagnosing me with some hypoxia and also some GPC (cobblestone) symptoms.  He told me not to wear my contacts for a week and a half or so until my eye started feeling back to normal.  In addition, he sent me home with some different contacts to try.  My eyelid is now feeling quite a bit better and doesn't feel so inflamed.  Unfortunately, I'm still having problems, so I haven't tried the new contacts yet.  The muscles in the soft tissue between the top of where my left eyeball sits (over my eyelid) and my eyebrow is has been hurting.  This is only in the left eye.  It really feels like that muscle on top is very sore.  Can this be eye strain?  (I sit at a computer for 8 hours a day, and I suspect that my computer station is not ergonomically correct.)  Could this be related to my wearing glasses (just got a new prescription) full time after wearing contacts for so long?  It does appear to be worse after I've been working on the computer or out squinting in the sun.  If this is eye strain, are there exercises I can try to help this out?  Or, is this related to the GPC or dry eye?  What should I do?  It's been worrying me, and I'd like to know what I should do.  Thank you!

wow.  10 more days?

how about this:  look down, hold your eyelid UP and have a friend look at the white part of your eye on top thats usually under your eyelid.  if it is red, dont wait.  if it is WHITE, waiting is probably okay IMO

Thanks for your comments.  In your opinion, do you think this is something I need to run right out and see an eye doctor about, or can I wait a bit?  I tried to get an appointment and can't get in until next Thursday (April 14).

true eyestrain usually occurs in both eyes, although if one eye has an incorrect rx, it could occur in that one eye by itself.

"soreness" sounds a little different to me, and in contact lens wearers i always assume the CL is the culprit until proven otherwise.  IMO "soreness" is not really a word that describes eyestrain very well...
