Eye pain and pressure

I am a 38 y/o female with 20/20 vision. After experiencing redness in one eye, I made an eye appt.  By the time I was seen (3 weeks later) I was having pain and pressure behind both eyes.  The optometrist diagnosed me with dry eye, and as having cataracts and macular degeneration in both eyes. (I am 38) Could any of this be the cause of the pain and pressure I am still having? Can any of these be misdiagnosed?  Is there any other eye problem that looks like mac or cataracts that causes this pain and pressure?  Thank you.

no.  dry eye does not cause pain/pressure, cataracts do not cause pain/pressure, and mac degen does not cause pain/pressure.

so no.  your pain/pressure are from something else.  if eye problems have been ruled out, then we're probably talking about sinus problems or migraines.

I have severe eye bulging and pressure off and on, sometimes daily. It feels like my eyes are ready to pop. But visually there is no bulging. I have been diagnosed with Epstien Barr years ago. I am wondering if this related. Seems like caffine makes it worse. Also lack of sleep.
