Eye pain in child, sporadic... had strabismus surgery over 2 years ago

My 6 year old son had strabismus surgery done Fall 2004 on both eyes.  His improvement was marked and we've been very pleased to see him gain depth perception and confidence.

This past month he has complained of sudden eye pain in his right eye.  It has only happened 4 times in a months period.  It lasts anywhere from 5 minutes to a couple of hours. Being 6 it's hard to get out of him exactly WHERE the pain is or to describe it very well.  The most I've gotten from him is that it really hurts.  He DOES have pretty bad seasonal allergies that are flaring up at the moment.  So we've been thinking it might just be sinus pressure?

I plan to call his pedi opth sometime later today.  It's almost time for his 6 month apt anyways... but I was just looking for some insight.

Thank you so much!

possible sinus pressure, but you cant be sure based on that description.  really all you can do is have him re-evaluated.

Hi every time there is pain its good to look into.  Since your son has been to this doctor and has had surgery maybe you can push the receptionist to book you much sooner or what always seems to work, leave a message for the doctor to call you back.  At least ifthe doctor calls back its better than waiting months.
