Eye pupil size mismatched

Eye pupil size mismatched

I go to eye clinic regular basis. Monthly past 5 months. Now going to 3 months. Doctor this last time pointed out my right eye pupil was larger than left (3) as to 4 & 4.5 reading in right. Eye pressure always been higher in right. I have had RT & lasik, plus tune up in both. Six months ago put me on Travatan 1 once at night. Three months ago added Trusopt AM & PM. Year ago both eye pupils were about the same (3 area).
Medical I take Promethazine 150mg for sleep. Diovan 10mg for blood pressure. Any idea if I am taking something here to cause it. Is it of great concern? Vision does not seem to be effected.
I am going on 69 years old.  Thanks  Fred

um, this is complicated.

you have glaucoma.  or your doc thinks you do.  if you are taking all the drops in only 1 eye then yes, its certainly possible that your pupil size difference is caused by the drops.

Nlikely IMO that any of your oral meds are causing it.

also possible your GLAUCOMA is causing it.  also possible that some old nerve damage is causing it )from an old virus, etc "adies" pupil)

dont know.  many possibilities.  i doubt this will be easily fixed tho.  if its nerve damage or glaucoma causing it then its permanent.  if its the glaucoma meds causing it then you cant really stop taking them just to get your equal size pupils back...

Don't have glaucoma or any early signs of it (yet, assume coming too). At least they have not told me, and I am sure they would. The drops are in each eye. They did say at my age, pressure readings in the 23-29 area could bring on glaucoma. Thusly I am now down in the 12-17 area with drops. I did google both of the drops, and side effects such as I have was not listed. Just seems to have come on when I started the drops. As long as I won't end up blind over it (?)I can live with it. Because of my lasik on both eyes, I ended up with dry eyes. Had tear ducts burn closed. Hydrocorisome 1% help a bunch with itching. I use Thera Tears without real good results. Anything recommend better?  Glad to know the meds are not a cause.
Thanks much for all the help.  Really do appreciate it and finding this site. Fred

the hydrocortizone could be the cause of the high pressure.  do your docs know you take hydrocortizone?  they need to.

soothe and systane are my favorite 2 OTC lubricant eyedrops

I wipe on my eye lids only. Do you mean it could be absorbed through the eye lid and into the eye after time? Might explain allot of things if this is true. If so I will get off of it.
Really helped with itching of eye lids. Never do get it in my eye (or so I think).
Will try those drops you recommended.   Thanks
