Floaters and study

Floaters and study

Hello.
I am 21, studying engineering at Technical university. I have been experiencing floters for about 4 years. They have been getting steadily worse. My questions are:

1. I read that floaters are "filtered out by brain after a period of time". Should I await something like this happening in close future. I mean, this certainly is not what I experince now..

2. My eye doctor told me that floters do not make studying a problem. But as you might expect, it is really terrible to to cope with it every single day. What should I do? I do not not anybody at my age facing the same problem, I do not know whether I am just too hypochondriac or whether it is a martyrdom to carry on in my studies.

Thank you in advance.
Gods blessing to you all.

if you have "vitreal floaters" as diagnosed by an eye doctor that are not retinal detachment or something serious...then...

even if you are very bothered by them, there is really nothing that can be done.  it is true that MOST people learn to ignore them.  but like i said even if you cant learn to ignore them, you're still going to have them.

you could have a vitrectomy, which is a VERY INVASIVE and moderately HIGH RISK surgery.  it would remove the floaters, but would put you at risk for much worse problems such as total blindness.  plus you'd have a VERY DIFFICULT time finding a surgeon who would perform this on you just b/c you have floaters and you are bothered by them.  they are going to consider that "elective".

the short version is...i'm sorry but i think you might have to kind of learn to live with them.
