Floaters: cob web large sensitivity to light dry eyes

by stuie66, Dec 28, 2006 12:00AM
I think I always have had floaters but they were never large or in the middle of my vision. I really developed a lot of floaters 10 years ago the day after I did LSD. Every year they got progressively worse. Other then floaters if I shift my eyes looking at a source of light such as a street light it looks like a trail.  Also if I walk from a dark room in to a light room and I close my eyes I see waves. Like if you close your eyes and push your eye ball.

I have researched my issue and I have some bad traits I am near sighted, I have really dry eyes, I think I have symtoms of Post Hallucenegtic Disorder. The last time I went for an eye exam they commented on how dry my eyes are.  I dont close my eyes fully when I sleep.

What is frustrating is there was minimal research done on eye floaters. Everything seems to be correlations etc. Hopefully there are going to be advancements in the next 5 years.  If no signs of a cure I will consider "the operation'. What do you think I have?

i dont know.  probably harmless vitreal floaters and lagophthalmos (inability to completely shut your eyes when sleeping).  i personally doubt either one of those are related to LSD use, but i guess its possible.

Is It possible if you have large numerous floaters they can catch light? Here is an example if I am looking at the buttons on my laptop in the dark the power button, volume etc and I look away it is like a trail effect. the blue light trails to the direction my eyes are shifting.

It is not like I am starring at the light then I look away. It is very quick, I think I can shift my eyes quicker than a normal person because I always have to move them so the huge floater in the middle of my vision moves away.

It is almost like my eyes memory takes a long time to diffuse an image that is well lit up or white walls. I have had an eye exam and everything looked good blood vessels, retina etc.

Basically, I know that I have a unique combination of problems with my eyes, I recently started taking vitamins for my eyes Ocuvite and I noticed that the colors are more vibrant and my vision is clearer.  However I notice my floaters more and the light issue seems to be increased. I would love to be used as a case study, my symptoms seem to be getting worse and I am scared.
