Hit in eye by fist and double vision

I was hit in the eye by a fist a little over a month ago and have been seeing an ophalmologist. The problems I have been having are double vision when trying to focus on objects that are near me. I have also acquired a few floaters (one originally and now i have noticed another one just a few days ago.) The Dr. has checked my retina by dilating my eyes and says everything is fine. I have also had a CT scan done and it showed no fractures of the orbit. The last time I saw my doctor was 2 1/2 weeks ago and am due to see him in a few days. At my last visit with the Dr. he told me to wear my contact lens in my eye that was hit to try to make the eye stronger. At first I felt this did make my eye stronger but now I feel that it has gotten weaker and the double vision is gradually getting worse. I do have a lazy eye (and it was the eye that got hit)that was treated when I was young and currently have 20/20 vision in both eyes. (I am 20 years old now.) I am very depressed over this and am constantly worried about it all the time. I've noticed that my lazy eye has gotten worse these past few days and have noticed the double vision worsening. I don't know if I'm just making this worse for myself by constantly looking around trying to figure out if I'm seeing double or what is going on. The doctor does not seem to be too worried about it and I've asked him if it can be fixed and he said that it definitely can. Is he right? Can this likely be fixed by a different lens prescription? Should i be worried sick like I currently am or am I worrying too much? Thanks for your help.

the strangest part of this post is the following:

"At my last visit with the Dr. he told me to wear my contact lens in my eye that was hit to try to make the eye stronger"

IMO no contact lens can ever make any eye "stronger" unless we're talking about refractive amblyopia in a young (under 8) child.

as long as your retina is fine on dilation, the rest of your symptoms are minor.  annoying, but not dangerous.  certainly not worth "worrying yourself sick" over.
