IOL Replacement

IOL Replacement

I had a traumatic cataract in left eye and was removed 25 yrs ago, recently I had eye surgery for IOL implant on Mar-05,My IOL one filament is perfectly in place but other filament of IOL is not having support and is touching cornea but no problem at all and also resulted in nearsightedness. I am waering -6.5 correction glass in left but right is perfectly all right. My doctor is suggesting a replacement of IOL to correct nearsightedness. But I afraid since there is no support left in my left eye for second filament of IOL. Is it safe to replace current IOL without having support for both filaments of IOL ?
