Lattice Degeneration

Lattice Degeneration

Hi,
During a routine eye check up, I was diagonised as having Lattice degenration in both the eyes. However I have not yet experienced any of the symptoms like (new)Floaters/Flashes, blurring of vision, etc. I have two questions:
1) Are there any preventive measures (like eye excercises , certain types of foods etc) to prevent this from resulting in retinal detachment.
2) I go to the gym regularly. Does the retina get weakened/damaged by any type of excercises?
I have myopia (minus 6.5 dioptres) in both the eyes.
thanks,
Anish

most patients with lattioce hae no symptoms whatsoever.

no, there is really nothing preventative you can do other then routine dilation at the eye doc.

going to the gym qwill not put you at any more or less risk of RD

I know your concerns Anish I have some thing similar in my life.
AS I KNOW THIS WILL NOT MAKE ANY CHANGE IN MY LIFE HOWEVER I STILL EAT HEALTHY FOOD.
Specially i keep carets in my diet, go towards yoga then exercises (i STILL GO TO GYM BUT ONLY FOR CARDIO related exercise). I tied to have cold liver oil, which has DHA/EPA related vitamins along with take luteain (spell check) as source to vitamins.
This will not present anything but i believe it can make your eyes stronger for the future since most this all eating habits and exercise will make blood vessels stronger for eyes.
I do try to watch green fields as my eyes get more rest......
