Hey everyone,
I am going for a consulation for Lasik, I have had 3 surgeries when I was younger to fix a lazy eye. I am 25 now. Right now with contacts my rx is -5.25 in both eyes and with glasses its -6 and -6.25 in my left and right eyes.
Will having past surgery on my eye cause me not to be able to do LASIK.
With my rx, are there certain types of lasik I could choose from ? With that rx is it a chance that I wouldnt be able to go through with this procedure ?

no, having strabismus surgery when you were a child does not preculde you from having lasik. depending on your corneal health, thickness, etc you are most likely a candidate.
what types of lasik could you choose from? any of them! lasik, wavefront lasik, lasek, prk...it all depends on what your eye looks like, what the surgeon prefers and how much money you're willing to spend...
there is a good probability that you could have the procedure done...

but its one big downside...and the reason LASIK was invented...
PRK is painful. your eyes will burn/hurt for 4 days. you will be light sensitive. you will not see well for about 3 days. you will not want to work or watch tv or do anything for at least 3 days. you'll want to lay in bed.
