Lyme disease residual effects?

Lyme disease residual effects?

My husband had Lyme Disease for two years before IV antibiotics led to a dramatic recovery.  While ill, he often felt as if he had a numb patch between his eyes, sometimes with odd sensations extending down into the corner of one eye.  At these times, he looked as if he had a permanent frown.  It would last anything from a couple hours to the whole day.

Wearing his reading glasses almost invariably seemed to trigger these sensations (although there were other triggers too).   He more or less stopped wearing his reading glasses for over a year because of this.

Since his IV treatment the numbness has disappeared totally - but he says that wearing his reading glasses for any length of time makes his eyes feel sore and tired.  He has had an eye test twice but they showed nothing untoward and he was told that his current prescription is fine.

I have always thought the sensations he experienced were some sort of partial facial palsy caused by the Lyme Disease - but I cannot understand why his reading glasses should still be affecting him in this way.  Can you help?

it is possible that lyme disease did cause some of his facial sensations, however i do not have an answer as to why wearing his reading glasses was the triger.
