Need Some Help

Hello
I Got Floaters/n/flashes from 4 years and now a days i see more big floaters And I went to 4 eye doctor n everyone say u eye is ok no problem no need of drops or tables. when i see a plain surface i see million of white swimming blobs "i am worried"
and some white spots and black spots appear and dissappear

I am seeing flashing lights and millions of tiny tiny colorful dots everywhere- these are not floaters though I see those everywhere too. I have this for as long as I can remember- though they do not move in any sort of recognizable pattern and cover every surface I look upon. Say, if I look at my bed the outline of it is teeming with tons of dots that blur the outlines of it and move around constantly. When I look at the words on a page, the black letters are rimmed with moving dots that makes the letters appear to be rimmed with rainbows. This is a long term problem that is really frustrating me to no end as it is so prominent in absolutely everything- even people's faces. It is bothering me badly and is getting much worse very quickly. When I shut my eyes it is still there- still in no pattern but I can watch it and be vaguely entertained. [Claudia v Can u give me Yahoo or Msn Id I Wanna Chat with u]

when i stare at one place i see some white spots rimmed with black moving dots what this may be or does it will increase more !!!!!!!! so it related to computer or tv or do i have to stop watch computer and tv

"I Am Worried"Please give me some Idea"
Thank u for taking u time

the 'millions of white swimming blobs' is scheerer's phenomenon.  an entoptic phenomenon that literally every human has:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_field_entoptic_phenomenon

totally different from 'floaters'.  what you are describing are not floaters.  this is totally normal, and not fixable.  you've just 'learned' to see it and focus on it.  you'll have to 'unlearn'.

if 4 docs havent found anything wrong with you, then its very likely that there isnt anything wrong with you.  you're seeing entoptic phenomena.  totally normal.  not dangerous.  not fixable.

The plain surface thing you mention when looking at a white or light colored wall or a blue/white sky is normal. Everyone has this, as others have pointed out in this thread. There's nothing you can do about that and it is considered normal retinal function.

The other issue, which I don't think anyone has addressed is different. I'm not an eye doctor. I thought I'd premise this with that. You should probably see a neurologist. Not that I think anything is wrong with you but you might just want to rule out other issues. I too have light flashes and motion phosphenes (when I look to the right with one eye, a few flashes of light will sometimes appear). I went to the eye doctor for dilation exam and everything checked out okay. What you are describing sounds like floaters actually. You just happen to have a lot of them. Floaters can be any color, shape or size. They are more common in farsighted people and they, unfortunately, get worse with age. There's really nothing that can be done about them. A doctor might be able to see Weiss rings when looking into a dilated pupil but many times the doctor can't see the floaters you are experiencing. They are really, really annoying, I know. They are benign though so they generally don't cause any problems. Since you have so many, you might want to go to the eye doctor more frequently because you don't know if you are experiencing early stages of retinal detachment unless you get checked regularly.  They can usually fix retinal detachments but only if it is caught early.

A more specialized eye doctor and a neurologist would be my first stop. You just want to rule out anything physical that can be causing these things.

no, do not stop watching tv or using computer.  those are not hurtning you nor are they causing your symptoms.

the white spots at night are normal...we're still talking about scheerer's phenomenon...
