Optic nerve head drusen

by jamie7777, Feb 15, 2007 12:00AM
Hi

I have ONHD in both eyes.  I am 31 years old and have kbnown about this since my early 20s.
1. Is it possible that these will not get any worse.
2. Is there any possibility that there will be a fix for this condition in the future.
3. When I look at things they seem a little destorted, could this be the drusen again.
4. Could Luiten and over vitamins help me retain normal vision.
5. When looking at white walls etc I see patchy vision, not floaters, just patchy, is this normal or is this due to the drusen.
6. One eye is fractionaly brihter than the other, normal or drusen.

Thanks for your time.

Regards

1) yes, possible to get worse
2) unlikely to have a fix for this anytime soon
3) unlikely for drusen to cause 'distortion'.  most 'distortion' is caused by macular problems, not ONH drusen
4) no, no supplement will help, sorry
5) patchy could be due to drusen, eys.  no, i would not consider that 'normal', but i doubt it will be fixable/solvable either
6) yes, could be caused by drusen
