2. lol see answer # 1. not near that easy. every patient is different, but to give you a BALLPARK guess that would be true for most patients...about 20/25
3. dont know. every patient is different. i have '-1.00' patients who are almost 20/20, and '-1.00' patients who are 20/200. so many other
factorsFactor ix complex...pupil size, accommodative facility, etc etc ad nauseum. but for MOST patients a ballpark figure for -1.00 would be 20/40 or 20/50 and -0.50 would be about 20/25 or 20/30
but this is way more complicated than you're trying to make it. acuity does not equal Rx.
The rezoom lenses were set for 20/20. The right eye was 8.00 diopter and the left eye was 8.50 diopter. For the right eye, the monofocal lens selected was 8.50 diopter which, after the healing time, gives me 20/20 vision. (Although I could read the first four letters of the 20/15 line.) The left eye was set for 10.50 diopters which gives me between 20/25 and 20/30. I hope your distance vision is improving. It took six weeks for my vision to stabilize.
I told my doctor that I wanted plano for the monofocal, for my right eye I am at 20/25 to 20/30. For my left eye I am at 20/40. I still see ghosting with the monofocal lens although it is less than the rezoom, the halos are gone.
However my left eye now at 20/40 is not as sharp as the rezoom. With the rezoom the ghosting separates as you move away from the object so you can see the object clearer. However with the monofocal for my left eye the ghosting does not separate but always stay inferior and to the left of the object so it always obscure the image. Since the ghosting does not separate it bothers me more than the rezoom at certain times
I told my doctor that I wanted plano for my left eye but for some reason he decided to give me a little nearsighted. He changed the power from 14D for the rezoom which I was seeing 20/20 to 20/25 to a power of 15D for the monofocal which I am now seeing 20/40 and the ghosting is still there. My near vision for that eye is not much different from my right eye and now I can't see distance object clearly with my left eye.
I am not very happy with the result for my left eye and I am thinking about going to Dr. Watz to have the left monofocal lens remove and put in another monofocal that will give me 20/20.
If I do this it will be the 3rd surgery for that eye and it may have some additional risk.
Do you have sutures on both of your eyes? How long will they stay on before he remove them?
Could you tell me the type of lens that you have. My model is SA60AT
Every time you have surgery you increase the risk of complications, but in the hands of a good surgeon, risks are minimized. (I had three surgeries on my right eye, re-center and explant) I'm sure Dr. Waltz will tell you what is best for you. So until you talk to him you won't know if a third surgery is possible.
I'm somewhat confused with the ghosting you are experiencing with the monofocal lens. I would be upset if I went through all that and ended up with ghosting again. Perhaps there's something else going on. In any case, with the Tecnis lens all the aberrations were eliminated. I hope things work out for you and that you are able to get the left eye corrected. If it's possible, you'll end up with blended vision like me that I think you will like.
