I have a 3 years old son. Periodically his eyes are getting red. For example, he has red eyes for last 2-3 months already. Doctor said today that this might be allergy. He did not examine his eyes, just prescribed anti-allergic drops and told us to visit him in a week.
last year we lived in another country. He had such symptoms there too. What worries me is that I am hyperopic and I am afraid that his red eyed could somehow be related to his vision.
My son also watches TV/computer intensively, but I doubt that this causes the redness.
What would be your advice. Could this be a problem of vision? How long may 3 years old child watch TV?
Thank you very much in

Advance relief.
Anyways, Up until ten i had never even thought about red eyes, bloodshot eyes, allergy eyes etc until i flew over to florida, when i was ten, being stuck in a plane for 9 hours had an adverse effect on me. My eyes were a red mess. fully red.
Anyway this was on off on off for the whole holiday, when i got home they returned back to normal
anyways i had no other problems until i reached 13...
in the summr of 2003- my problems started, in the summer months only. red eyes, itchy, painful, you name it. Therefore it must have been allergy right? well every year since i was 13 ive had red eyes in the summer until i was 15 in the summer nd 16 in the summer. from which i had red eyes more often then not from 2005 all the way to 2007 which it is now. Being a teenager it makes me too self conscious to even go out most days,i cant look people in the eye,its makin my life a misery, out of 365 days a year my eyes are red for 320 days a year. and i mean RED. not pink, vivid red. In the inside crners more often then not stretching right across the whites of my eyes until it reaches the iris. and my right eye suffers tremendously, it hurts a lot, mainly due to extreme itchiness and my only option being to rub it to ease the itching. When i was placed on prednisolone( steroid based eye drops) my eyes always clear up. always clear of the symptoms. They help 90%, its manageable. anyways i need a solution, eye drops such as systane and "fake tears" drops dont work, therefore my eyes arent suffering from dryness. ive been issued a consultation with an allergist. hopefully she can desensitise me? anybdy know if this would be a solution to my problem??
