Thanks for the help guys.  I have about the same number of floaters now that I had before the last exam, so I'm not really concerned about them, but the other symptoms are new.  Anyway, I'm going to go get checked as soon as I can, thanks again.

Go to the doctor.  It took weeks before I knew that my retina was detached.  It wasn't sudden like you sometimes read.!!

an exam with a dilation would have picked up a detachment if it existed at the time.  but you have new symptoms snce the exam that indicate possible RD (especially the new floaters & "shadow".

you need to go back in asap.
