Scar Tissue due to Retinal detachment

Scar Tissue due to Retinal detachment

My child had retinal detachment when he was 1. His macula was completely detached as well. Problem was not detected until he was 5. He had reattachment surgery 8 years ago. Due to significant scar tissue, he now has limited peripheral vision in that eye. My question is, can anything be done with the scar tissue that would give him more of his vision back? Initial detachment was due to retinal tear.

Thanks,
Emin
