Tecnis Multifocal

Anyone know the status of the Tecnis multifocal lens? How have the test/trial results been? Is it considered superior to the Restor/Rezoom/Crystallen or merely an alternative? Any idea when it will be available in the US/Canada?

There's info about the Tecnis Multifocal on an earlier thread titled "Multifocal IOLs and Halos" (6/15/06).  Songez asked the same question you did (7/24/06).

The Tecnis multifocal is getting very good press in Europe. It began clinicals in the US just about 1.5 years ago. I would not expect approval until the latter part of 2007. It is very hard to predict any exact time frame.
