hmm.  cold compresses may help with the swelling, but it wont treat the underlying cause.  you're going to need an eye examination.  someone has to figure out why your lid is swelling and treat the underlying cause.  stye, preseptal cellulitis, gpc, allergy, blepharitis...all can cause 'swollen' eyelids, but all have totally different treatments.
