constantly dialated pupils

constantly dialated pupils

I never noticed before but both of my eyes appear to be constantly dilated with very little change in size no matter the quantity of light difference.  I don't know if my eyes have always appeared dilated because I never really paid attention to it.  I am sensitive to light and my eyes tear up often; when it's windy, sunny, and too cold.  I was also told by an eye doctor that my eyes are dry so it's trying to compensate by tearing.  But past week or so I have been feeling light headed.  I would be feeling fine but all of a sudden for a few seconds, I feel not so steady on my feet.  I can't think of any reason why I am getting light headed.  I eat healthy, I exercerise moderately most of the days of the week, and I get about 7 hrs of sleep every night.  I don't drink or smoke...  Can dilated pupils give a clue as to why I have been feeling dizzy and is having dilated pupil a bad thing?

those are probably unrelated.

having dilated pupils is not a bad thing.  as long as they are the same size as each other and both pupils constrict equally when bright light is shined at you, then you are fine.  i just saw a patient not 15 min ago with this same problem.  her pupils were huge...8mm in a bright room.  it causes some blurry vision especially at night, and some light sensitivity, but it is pretty harmless.  it is not probably not causing or related to your dizziness (although its technically possible).

dizziness could be many things: hypotension (low blood pressure) or postural hypotension, migraines (even if you dont have pain), blood sugar problems, etc etc.  you'd need a full battery of tests to figure out what is causing it.  you need a physical with blood workup.
