discomfort in left eye

i have this left eye problem that has been going on for almost 6 months now. it started suddenly as a pressure behind my eye, between eye and eyelid. from then symptoms are also light sensitivity, floaters, ocassional strobing spots. even though i never had headaches before, since this eye problem i have often headaches around my left eye. sometimes this discomfort is so bad i have to stay home not working. i went to eye opthalmologist but he sait my eyes are in perfect condition, gave my eye drops corticoids and systaine artificial tears. they didnt help at all. should i visit another eye doctor or what would be my next step. any idea what is causing this discomfort?

a second opinion is never a bad idea, although most insurance plans wont pay for it.

pain and pressure 'behind your eye' in the absence of eye disease could be migraines, cluster headaches, sinus problems and more.  but i'd try another eye doctor 1st.

if its sinus migrenes or cluster headaches, how do you fight those. is there a specialialist i should visit when second eye check is also negative?

neurologist if you suspect migraines or cluster headaches.  if confirmed you'd likely be on migraine preventative meds like topamax.

ENT if you suspect sinus problems.  could have surgical procedures or take meds to reduce sinus pressure.
