dry eye and light sensitivity

dry eye and light sensitivity

I think i might have dry eye from the weather and from staring at a computer screen 8 hours a day. Lately i have also been finding my self sensitive to artificial and sunlight. could these be related? What can i do about it?

possibly related.

if you are a contact lens wearer, you need an exam.  any "photophobia" or light sensitivity has to be assumed to be corneal-related.

if you are NOT a contact lens wearer, go to the pharmacy and buy some "lubricant eye drops" or "artificial tears" (do not buy visine or any product that claims to "get the red out", or any product that is called an "ocular decongestant").  there are many brands.  i like SYSTANE the best for what you are using it for, but many different brands will do.  start using them say 4x/day.  if you get absolutely no relief from that, or if the condition worsens, then schedule an eye exam.

Ok, thanks. They both happened at the same time so that is why i thought they were related. I was just at the eye doctor about 2 weeks ago and he said everything was fine but my dry eye and light sensitivity did not start until after i left so i guess i will have to go back.
