Hi I have very dry eyes (partially due to antihistimine usage) and on chronic steroids for other severe eczema problems. Have tried all the over the counter dry eye drops and ointments with no relief. Is RestasisRestasissafeSafe driving for teens Safe sex to use with chronic steroid use?
Thank you
Karen
as far as i know, there is no known drug interaction problem with restasisRestasis and any steroid. caution should always be used, however. also, dont expect immediate results on restasisRestasis...it sometimes take 2-3 months before the patient notices significant relief.
This is what helped me during a bad dry eye period.
During the day: Thera Tears individual vials
Bedtime: Thera Tears Liquid Gel
and
A small dab of Refresh PM
** I also covered my eyes with either
Glad's Press & Seal or Renalds Wrap,
with a wash rag folded over that.

have you tried "soothe" brand over-the-counter lubricant eyedrops? it has FISH OIL in it, and i have had a lot of success recommending it to patients with chronic dry eye. it comes in an orange & purple box, and may be hard to find. it runs about $10/bottle...MUCH less than restasis (like $90/bottle!) its an emulsion (like oil & water), so you need to shake it up before use.
