eyes are not strong Enough...

by confused soul01, Feb 27, 2007 12:00AM
HI!!

My eyes don't seem to be strong enough to wear contact lenses. I have glasses since i was 14 and i am 21 now. i tried contact lenses for first time when i was 17-18, i was used to wear them regularly, then suddenly my eye sight got badly weak so i got new glasses, but when i again tried contact lenses of new power, just in a week my eyesight again fell down. soo i stopped using contact lenses and my eye were okay in 2-3 days... so what i understood from whole thing is my eyes are not strong enough to hold contact lenses. and my eye doctor didn't believe it.

Can u please suggest me something..
will eye exercise help me in making my eyes strong so i can wear contact lenses again?
what if i go for LASIK ?

interesting question/problem.  you are basically asking if there is some way that you could make your Rx 'bad enough' so that you could get an Rx for contact lenses...when your current eye doctor told you that your Rx is not 'bad enough' right now to warrant a contact lens Rx?

no, there is really no way to do that...

Well.. This happened before 3 years nd then i never tried contact lenses nor i discussed this problem with my eye doctor (IN INDIA).

all i want to know is what could be the problem with my eyes so they are not able to hold lenses while most of the people are really fine (I never came across a person who has kinda problem).

One more imortant thing is...
when i used contact lenses for first time, i was fine till one year then had problem..
when i used for second time i was fine tillone-two weeks and then my Rx got increased and i left using them..
and now a days its difficult for me to wear them even for few hours..

sooo something is just going wrong wrong n wrong..

dont know.  you apparently have variable prescription.  there may be no true "problem" at all.  but if there is a "problem", i am not going to be able to tell you what it is based on that information.  you probably need a second opinion from a different doctor.
