grey spots on scelera

My daughter (17 month old) has gray spot in her left eye. it is there from last 11 month it has become little more darker and bigger over the time. Now from a week some new hair line gray spots getting developed.

Doctor say we can not do any thing about it, this not a problem in functioning of eye . Some where on web i read "so if the sclera is slightly thinned that area can appear darker".

I have two question

1) can there be both gray or brown spots?
2) Can we reduce sclera getting thinner?
