I am not an eye care professional but I do want to share my anecdotal experience.  I am a grandmother in my 50s who was diagnosed as a high myope as a baby,  before I  had cataract surgery last month, I was almost -13.00.  Your daughter will probably be nearsighted (and will very possibly continue to get more nearsighted as she gets older).  Make sure she wears her glasses and if she has a weaker eye (amblyopia) insist she use the patch or the eye drop to strenghthen the vision in the weak eye (or it will never be fully correctable, leaving her with only one good eye).  When she gets older, she will see better (and feel better about herself) with contact lenses. (If she must wear glasses there is a place in Canada that specializes in making strong presriptions lighter, thinner and more attractive).  When she gets still older, there are surgical procedures  and implantable colamer lenses that are available now that were not available 50 years ago.  Find a reputable optometric / opthalmic center in your geographic region and get her examined regularly.  Chances are good that she will live a normal life but you and she will have to keep an "eye" on the condition.  Good luck.

Hi!
I have found a site that teach you how to improve your vision:
www.rebuildyourvision.com. Read about it. For a child needs to be at least 10 year old in order to practice the exercise.
