i am taking mrsjet's advice and am going to stop goggling and reading these boards ... but i have one last question ...
can i assume that this eye thing is something benign, since the retinal specialist said there was no sign of disease?

by Forum-OD-MP, Jun 09, 2006 12:00AM

ok. it just seems odd to me that there would be such a thing as a "benign" disturbance ...

hello again.  It's really hard to trust, isn't it?  I know. Here it is a year and a half later, and I am still checking the boards.  But not so often, maybe only once a week or so.  Try it for one week, then check back in and let me know how you are doing.  It's funny how often I think about you and I don't know you.  I think you will be amazed at how much less you will worry if you stop looking for answers.  In case you were wondering, I am 39 years old, I have two kids and I live in Northern California.

If you never feel the need to post again, that is AWESOME.  But, if you are going crazy, know I check in here and at ************.com on a fairly regular basis.  I know what you are going through.  Concentrate on conquering your anxiety and I bet you will find the eye thing starts to seem a little less important with every passing week.

I know you're going to kill me for this, now that you've stopped searching, but I may have some info for you regarding your vision symptoms.

I read your post on 06/06/2006   http://www.medhelp.org/forums/EyeCare/messages/1065.html

You described "flashing lights, swirling images and sparkly things I see every minute of the day..."

There is a bacterial infection of the cranial nerves to the eyes that can cause these symptoms.

Lyme bacteria infect nerves.
If they infect the cranial nerve to the eyes, visual symptoms such as you described may result.

Here is a post from the Neurology forum, about people with floaters, visual static and other visual disturbances:

http://www.medhelp.org/forums/neuro/messages/33990.html

There are a number of people at LymeNet.org who have these visual disturbances, who have been diagnosed with Lyme Disease.

Wishing you the best,
Carol
