prescription disposable contact lenses and vision

I've misplaced my prescription glasses and cannot afford a new pair till insurance is available to help at the first of the next year. I often borrow my daughter's glasses to read the tv screen  or see at the movie theater. She has a 6 month supply of disposable contacts in her prescription that she gave up on trying. She just wants to wear glasses. I hate to waste the money we spent on the contacts and would love to find out how I feel about contacts. I know our prescription is not the same but I can see better with her glasses than without. Would it hurt my eyesight to try her contacts just to see if it will be worth it for me to purchase in my prescription when eye exam time comes around in about 6 months or so?  Thanks

I don't think it would hurt your eyes permanently, but I don't think you will gain anything from trying them.  Bear in mind they won't be right for you, and irritation may come from an improper "fit" and things may be blurry even though you think you see pretty well with her glasses. So you might try them and hate them, when if you got them properly prescribed you might like them a lot.

  There are so many different kinds available!  I trialed 4 or 5 different kinds for a couple months before I found the kind that I ultimately settled on (Acuvue Advance for Astigmatism).  The initial outlay seems expensive, but your eye doctor will work with you literally for months giving you trial pairs until you find something that you can use and be comfortable with.
