red eye problem

i am 23 and i have been wearing contacts for about 6-7 months. i have a red eye problem in my right eye.
i have gone to the doctors and the optitions and both of them have told me that i havn't got an infection and they subscribed me a antibiotic for my eye.
i also have a cold and my right side of my nose is blocked up but not my left. is this linked to the red eye. the doctor subscribed me an antibiotic for my cold but this is not helping my blocked nose, nor my red eye.
i started using a refresher for my eye but this is still not working. can u pls tell me what shall i do know.
my vision is fine and i have only a minor discomfort.

so many things wrong with the information in this post.  lets try & hash it out:

if you *dont* have an eye infection, then why were you prescribed antibiotics for your eye?  that makes no sense.  antibiotics are for bacterial infection only.  not "colds", etc.  either you DO have a bacterial eye infection, or the drops you were prescribed were not just antibiotics...they could have been combo antibiotic/anti-inflammatory.  confusing to me what your opticians/docs are doing.

no, the "cold" is probably not related in any way to the red eye.  IMO a red eye in a contact lens wearer is 99.9% of the time b/c of the contacts.  and again, why are you on antibiotics for a "cold"?  by definition a "cold" is viral.  antibiotics dont work on a "cold".  so you either dont have a cold, or your doc is rx'ing antibiotics somewhat questionably.

here's what to do about the red eye: go to an eye doctor if you have not been to one yet.  not the optician, not a "regular" doctor.

I had red eye infections, and problems with back arthrities both are tied together.
It took me 50 years to find out-the name for it ankylosing spondylitis.
Pray you don't have it
