seeing spots

when i get up in the morning i sometimes see a lot a black spots on my wall when first opening my eyes.  it looks like the wall has the measels.  it lasts for a few seconds ( 10 to 30 seconds) then goes away.  My eyes feel somewhat dry and not really focused yet - remember i just awake when this happens.  it is both eyes and they do not move like floaters.  the rest of my day has normal vision.  My eye exams are normal.  It seems to happen in spurts ( can go many months with it not happening then it happens for a few days in a row- it has been happeneing for 1 and 1/2 years or more in this pattern.  i have another opthamologist appt this week.  still worried

[Just concerned]

Have you had your blood pressure checked?  I know someone who was seeing spots and that was what they were told to have checked.  Could be other conditions than the eye that causes these spots I understand. Are you on medication that could have that as a side effect?  Good luck!
