Dimmer's nummular keratitis

I was diagnosed awhile back probably 5 months or so with  Dimmer's nummular keratitis, My doctor told me that no one really knows what it is and is extrlemely rare and i was told that toxoplasmosis caused this he treated me with steriods for 1 month and nowi am on gas permeable lenses to reshape my eye, he also siad i had some corneal scarring and was wonding if im going to live with the scarring forever and also if you know the chnace ofit comming back? Thank you

Nummular keratitis is a scar on the cornea usually caused by an infection.  Depending upon the type of infection, it may be possible to reactivate.  I would recommend that you speak with your eyeMD and be followed regularly.  If you have signs of redness or irritation, stop your contact lens immediately and be checked by your eyeMD.
