Regarding Eye sight in kids

My daughter got -0.75 nearsightedness, when she was in first grade and  it's drastically increased to -3.75 in one year. What could be the reason behind it and what are the necessary steps to be taken to control it.

Myopia is complex and there is no surefire way to prevent it or slow it down. Outside play of greater than one hour/day has been shown to help in kids so get her outside daily.  Other methods such as atropine drops, ortho-K, contact lens, bifocals have not conclusively been shown to help. Myopia is much more common and progressive in Asians.
