implant surgery

My optometrist said my vision was getting worse (I have astigmatism) so he told me the only thing that could improve my eyesight was implant surgery. Can someone explain what it is?

I assume that your optometrist was referring to cataract surgery.  Go to www tecnisiol com and watch the patient education video.  Then check out recent threads on this site to learn more about the different types of implants available (monofocal like the aspheric Tecnis, toric to correct astigmatism, and multifocal/accommodating like the ReStor and the Crystalens HD).
