Hi, I took my 13 year old for a physcial today. He had a vision test. His right eye tested 20/70, and his left eye tested 20/50. He had a vision test last February which was 20/20 in both eyes.
His doctor said that he is concerned, and to take him to see an eye doctor.
Iam so worried that his vision has changed that drastically in one year.
My question is this normal to have such a drastic vision change in a 13 year old boy in a one year time frame?
He has no health problems.
Thanks for any insight.
If his distance vision is down but his near vision (reading) is good it almost always means he's become myopic or nearsighted. No changes like that are common at his age. Be sure to see an Eye MD ophthalmologist. Find one near you at www.aao.org
