17 year old son quick onset peripheral vision blurred

My 17 year old son just said his peripheral vision was blurred in one eye.  He gets hypoglycemic sometimes and didn't get much sleep last night. He ate something and his vision improved in about 15 minutes.  He also had a TIA as a  He has no other symptoms of a TIA, but did lay down to take a nap.

I'm not sure what to do from here.

His peripheral vision should be tested by a trained eye care provider in the next 2 to 4 weeks or even sooner if it goes and doesn't come back soon. It sounds like he was symptomatic for low sugar. Has this been tested? If he is not arousable then that would be an emergency. Call 911 immediately of you can't wake him. Give him a nudge right now and confirm he is arousable. Good luck!

Sorry, I meant to say he had a TIA as a baby before corrective heart surgery.  His risk now shouldn't be greater than the rest of the population.
