2 month old eye question

Hello My two month old grandson is very alert, social smiling since 9 days old and very aware of surroundings. He makes great eye contact with everyone, tracks well and seems to be very social. The past two weeks, it seems that his eyes will cross for several minutes and it seems to frustrate him. They go back to normal after a few minutes but is it something they should be concerned about? I'm an RN and not an alarmist but thought I'd ask the question. Thanks

No concern until he is older than 3 months and maybe even a little older.  When he does this, remove objects that are really close to his eyes and give his eyes a chance to relax by trying to get him to look at something farther away across the room.  Post another question if the crossing is still present when he is older than 4 months or have them take him to a pediatric ophthalmologist at that point.  90% of the time, this resolves in the first few months of life and is normal in infants younger than 3 months for sure.
