20mo old's iris closure in photo is in the shape of a squashed diamond

I took this photo today, then I increased the brightness in the photo to get a better look...my 20mo old's iris closure caused her pupil to look like a squashed diamond! How strange is that? I'd like to know if anyone has heard of such a thing and what I should know...
(I don't know if there's a way to post a photo, so I used the photo that I had taken of my daughter earlier today for my profile pic)

She's a smart kid, but she does space out often. Her pediatrician says that if we can pull her out of it right away, then it's nothing to worry about... and we always can.

We also have noticed that her eyes appear to be... well, one looks in further than the other a bit. We took her to see an eye doctor when she was 6mo or so and they said she just has a wide bridge btn her eyes and she clearly does...but I still notice this look she has sometimes (rather often) and I really think there may be more to it than that. I think she tends to display this look more often when she's tired. I also think that sometimes I can see the light reflection in her eyes, not being in the same spot of the pupil in both eyes- when looking at a photo (and it's not by much).

I can't think of anything else that may be relative... I had an easy pregnancy, all-natural birth and she's a really smart kid. Any ideas?

I agree with her eye doctor.  You should have periodic exams by a pediatric ophthalmologist.
