3 Year Old With Astigmatism

I am a father of little 3 year old girl. Unfortunately she was diagnosed of  astigmatism last week. Her left eye is about 250 and her right one is 100 degree. All my family is concerned about wearing glasses in her age, in the mean time, my daughter told me she is looking things good, I don't find any problems on her eyes, and I read some stories in the website, and most of them recommend to wear glasses, but some others suggest let her be since the eyes will develop themselves when they grow old. I am so intertwined with the two different options, can you please adivse whether I should put the glasses on her eyes ?

It you childs teeth were coming in crooked you would not deny her braces, if her feet were clubbed you would not deny her casts and braces. Why would you even think twice to do something to give her good vision and straight eyes.

Because the amount is different in each eye she is at risk of not seeing well int the 2.5 diopter eye. You cannot assume she will grown out of it.

Assuming you are seeing an Eye MD ophthalmologist with expertise in children you are doing the right thing.

Asians have a very high (much higher than occidentals) of eye problems including glaucoma and refractive errors like myopia and astigmatism.

Be sure to have any other children checked.
