8 months after RD surgery

New Doc says that First doc cut the ciliary body behind my iris. Pupil is now deformed. Eye is not producing aquaous humor, eye is filled with silicone oil up to the pupil and is under inflated.  Aphakic eye has 20/200 vision without +10 contact lens.  Cornea is not too bad yet.  

What would the next procedure be?  Oil to come out?  Doc #1 did not want to take it out, although he was supposed to do it in 4-6 months...it has been 9 months.  Retina is attached.

Generally, oil removal should be considered when the retina is stable. However, I'm not sure that removing the oil would be wise if you're eye isn't producing any aqueous, b/c it would result in hypotony, which in all likelihood would be permanent and cause you more vision problems.

I would think insertion of IOL would help with the oil migration issue (also remember to avoid lying on your back for long periods of time) so as to preserve the cornea. It would also remove the need for aphakic lenses.

Go seek out another opinion as your case sounds complex.

I would not recommend removal of the silicone oil if the pressure is low.

How about Healon oil with an IOL?  Is that the same as silicone oil?

healon and silicone oil are NOT the same thing.
